iPhone to hit the stands on Friday

iPhone to hit the stands on Friday

Good news for all tech freaks, the much awaited apple iPhone will finally be launched in the US on Friday. Even as it is all set to revolutionise global mobile telephony you may have to wait a while before the iPhone makes its way to India.

The craze to get their hands on Apple's latest offering has seen hundreds camp outside the stores ahead of Friday evening release in America. In New York some began even queuing up from Monday morning.

Is it a phone or a music player? Who cares, the Apple iPhone has just become a national obsession. Ahead of the launch of the iPhone hundreds queued up outside the stores in Manhattan some for three days.

The iPhone, with its three and half inch touchscreen has 4-8 gigabytes of flash memory to store all kinds of media files. It is light at less than 4 ounces but the downside, apart from the hefty price tag of $499 or $599 is a mandatory two year wireless contract with AT&T. That's $60 a month, few are deterred.
